So today seems to be the day that Windows 7 dropped. Surprisingly it dropped with very little fanfare, which surprises me a bit considering Microsofts previous showings.

Microsofts parties or lack of parties is not the issue here, Windows 7 is.

So, after just a few hours on the market what is the innitial response on the internet? Well, if you ask any Mac guy, he’ll tell you that it sucks but he/she hasn’t even seen Windows 7 so discount those people right away.

I headed over to a few of my favorite on-line haunts and the chatter is mostly positive. One netizin said “I through everything I could at it, I even wrote a script in C that flooded the CPU with no less than 500 requests, and where my Windows XP machine would have already cried uncle, Windows 7 was fine with it. Simply, Windows 7 is incredibly stable.”

Another person said, “I have already made the decision that Windows 7 will be the FIRST OS I EVER PURCHASE.

I have been using computers since aol1.0 and have seen several versions of windows and I will be buying Windows 7 Full Version for its retail price, from like Best Buy or somewhere official not an ebayer or something.

I cant wait to pay…. It sucks to say that but my machines running XP are begging for something different… and I am too.”

Yes, that last response surprised the hell out of me but that’s what the internet is already saying about Windows 7. I think I can’t wait to pick up a copy of it myself, just going by the opinions being tossed in on many internet forums. If you don’t believe me then just go to hell. No Just Kidding. Just go to any internet forum and find the Windows 7 thread, I’m willing to bet that you’ll see similar types of comments as I just mentioned above.

Looks like Microsoft hit one out of the park with their latest release of Windows. One thing that is certain, Windows 7 is not the second coming of Vista.
