It is amazing to me that there is so much bellyaching from all sorts of conservatives, liberals, and a wide assortment of mentally disturbed groups in regards to president Obama’s trip to Copenhagen Denmark in an attempt to bring the Olympics to Chicago.
For those of you who haven’t noticed yet, our economy is in the toilet!
I even heard on the news today that some people in Chicago are complaining about the possibility of the Olympics coming to their town.
Did I miss something here?
Was I tardy from school on the day when they were teaching basic economics?
Sometimes it seems like I’m living in a lunatic asylum!
What part of, we need money because China owns us out right, doesn’t the American public understand?
Boys and girls, now pay close attention to this part, if the Olympics come to Chicago let alone the United States we will have a sudden influx of foreign money. Tourist dollars will just flood into the country. That’s not even mentioning the amount of jobs that will be created to prepare Chicago for the games.
It’s possible that I’ve suffered a stroke, or perhaps some sort of aneurysm but last time I checked the whole point was to bail out the United States from its current economic crisis. So we’ll have construction workers building the stadium, we’ll have land developers, we’ll have vendors and a whole assortment of other ordinary Americans once again being able to earn some money. Olympics are not only good for Chicago they are good for all of the United States of America.
Just consider how many brand new online entrepreneurs will be selling T shirts, hats, ties, shoes, flags and anything else that they can think of that the Olympic symbol can be printed on. Just that one aspect could really lift the United States out of its financial hole. Well that might be a small exaggeration but you understand my point.
I realize that the Olympics won’t be for many many years even if Chicago does acquire them but it would certainly be a morale boost to the country and quite frankly it would instantly create jobs for ironworkers, construction workers and many other types of workers that I don’t even know that exist.
Should president Obama have gone to Denmark in an attempt to lock in the Olympics for Chicago? Absolutely! The man was gone for less than a day and it’s not like the country was going to fall apart in his absence of 18 hours.
Oh yes, let’s not forget the Republicans spouting their rhetoric about how the President had time to go to Denmark but couldn’t find the time to speak to his General.
Do the republicans realize that air force one has a phone on it? Do they comprehend the idea behind air force one? Because to my knowledge air force one is not only an airplane, it is not only of flying apartment for the president, but it is also a flying office of the president.
I suppose the republicans can’t fathom the idea of Wireless Technology because they seem to think that since the president’s plane isn’t dragging cables to the ground he must be complicate cut off from any communication with the rest of the world.
But they are an entertaining bunch aren’t hey.
