US Marines Urinate on Dead
Today a new video appeared on YouTube which depicts yet more disgusting behavior by our Armed Forces who are stationed in Afghanistan. These Marines apparently decided it to be a wise idea to urinate upon the bodies of deceased individuals and to record video of the act.

After watching this video and recreating it for YouTube with appropriate warnings for those who don’t wish to see such disgusting atrocities; I am personally at a loss for words. The video speaks for itself and all I can think of is that if you find this video to be in any way positive, then perhaps this website is not for you.

War is sometimes a necessity and it is an atrocious and disgusting fact of the Human Condition. War is everything that is ugly and horrible and unpleasant and wrong with the world, there is no need for U.S. Marines to add insult to injury by trying to dehumanize the fallen, no matter which side they are on. War itself does enough to denigrate us all without the need for such acts as depicted in this video.
The acts depicted in this video are vile and disgusting and only serve to paint Americans in an even worse light then we already have on the world stage. I have to wonder what exactly is going on at the various military bases in the United States. Is this something that these mens training officers would be proud to see them do? If the answer is yes then I truly pity the shape of our soldier and Marine representatives.
U.S. Armed Forces Respond To The Video of Marines Urinating on Dead
Col. Gary Kolb said from Kabul, Afghanistan: “We recently became aware of an inappropriate video on a public website that appears to involve members of our military.” “We will not speculate on the details but will take all necessary actions to determine the facts.”
U.S.M.C Media Officer Kendra Hardesty said: “While we have not yet verified the origin or authenticity of this video, the actions portrayed are not consistent with our core values and are not indicative of the character of the Marines in our Corps.” “This matter will be fully investigated and those responsible will be held accountable for their actions. We are in the process of verifying what unit these Marines are with right now and as soon as we have more information, we will let you know.”
Department of Defense spokesman Capt. John Kirby: “Regardless of the circumstances or who is in the video, this is egregious, disgusting behavior. It’s hideous. It turned my stomach.”
Government officials stated in no uncertain terms that the desecration of a body by U.S. troops could be considered a potential war crime.
Maybe it’s time for the United States to lead by example and try a few Marines for War Crimes.
UPDATE: Couple of Marines In Video Identified.
Today, January 12th, 2012, it was reported by all the major news outlets that at least a couple of the Marines, who took part in the desecration of dead Afghans, have been identified and are now known to Military leadership. The names of these Marines were not released to the public but it is safe to assume that the rest of the Marines who took part in the desecration will be known soon. This assumption comes from the fact that the two Marines that the Government has already identified are in very severe legal trouble and by not giving up the names of the rest of the Marines in that group, they could be compounding their legal problems with an added charge of insubordination.
